Best. Weekend. Ever.

This weekend was a total blast. It was beyond fun. We got to our resort in Door County at about 10pm on Friday night. We immediately got unpacked and got right on down to the fun stuff..."Ticket to Ride" of course!! It's this strategy game where you have to build trains across the US and try to block other people from completing theirs. I know it sounds dorky but it is so much fun. After that we played "Settlers of Catan" another strategy game that is too difficult to describe here but is very intense and can go very long. We got to bed at about 3am which is late for me.

On Saturday morning we got up at like 8:30 and our friends made breakfast. Our friend Mark works at Panera Bread so we had Panera bagels and various other breakfast goodies. After that, one couple went CC skiing at Peninsula State Park while the rest of us went on a winery tour to 3 wineries in the area. Some of us did wine tasting at all three. We bought some too. When we got back, we played football in the snow which was very difficult due to the depth of the snow; that was such a workout. Then we had homemade chicken soup for lunch that Amber and I made. Then we played a "Ticket to Ride" tournament. Amber and I took 3rd place. After that we drove to Sister Bay to play this game called Broom ball. This was the highlight of my winter by far. It's similar to hockey but you don't have ice skates and instead of a puck you use a small ball and have these "brooms" to move the ball around. It was 6 vs. 6 and it was soooo intense. People were falling left and right, getting all banged up, getting checked, flying into the walls, flying into the goals, flying into each other, tripping each other. We played for 3 hours or so, possibly longer and we played under the lights so that was neat. We were all so sore we could barely move. When we got back we had chili for dinner and then went to the indoor aquatic center and soaked in the hot tub and played "21" in the water. We were all worn out after that. Then we got back and played "Settlers of Catan" again and then poker until 1am or so. We earned our sleep that night.

On Sunday we got up at around 9:30 and had french toast, sausage, and bacon for breakfast prepared by the one and only "Meatmaster". Then we hung around, played some more games, had a delicious lunch of spaghetti and then we were off to Madison.

There were also many random acts of craziness. And lots of random wrestling. And playing of Wii. And I didn't take a shower once while I was there.

The drive home was eventful as well. As soon as we got onto Hwy 151 this crazy thick fog enveloped us and it never let up. I couldn't see a foot in front of me at times. I had to follow this one car close for like 40 miles because I needed tail lights to follow. It was very stressful but I'm glad everyone made it home safe.

Below are a few select photos from the weekend. I didn't take them since I forgot to bring my camera with me whenever we did something fun. So, thanks to Mark and Adam for the photos...

The ladies.
A dare to fit 5 apple slices in my mouth.
Yes, we look like serial killers.

Yes, he may look more like a serial killer than the rest of us.

I was very warm at the time... Notice the short sleeves in the 15 degree weather.
