Two-fer Tuesday

Well, not much going on at work today so I figure I'll have another blog update...

The new Counting Crows album, "Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings" was released today. I picked it up over my lunch break at Best Buy. I recommend that if you are going to buy an album, to buy it within the first week it comes out since they are so cheap, I got this one for $10. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but it has gotten great reviews and if their other albums are any indication on how this album is going to be, it will be pretty darn good. I may have a review of the album within the next few days. REM's "Accelerate" is coming out next Tuesday...man, I love the spring!

This week will be a pretty good week, Life Group tonight, Book Group on Wed., Cooking class on Thurs., we'll probably visit my aunt and uncle and cousins in Lake Mills on either Fri. or Sat. and on Sun. we're having a chili cook-off with some friends which will no doubt be a blast! We're making White Chicken Chili.

Life's been going well this year. I've been very organized which makes things go much easier with less stress and our finances have improved a ton within the past year or two so we're able to pay off a ton of old debts like student loans, cars, etc., save much more, and give much more to the church. Since we both got promotions this year, that has helped out quite a bit. We feel quite blessed! Now, it's just a matter of being responsible with our money which I pray for continually. We've also grown a ton in our faith since we got married and we're thankful for the great friends and the church we are a part of that has helped us grow spiritually. I remember my uncle telling me when I graduated college to try to keep your life balanced in the following order: God, Family, Friends, Work and things will tend to fall into place. He is definitely right, but I have to get better at staying in touch with family and sometimes I lose track of where God is in my life but he is a much larger part of my life than He has ever been. It's easy for me to get too distracted by the small things and lose focus of the big picture.

Half-Marathon training is going well. I get up at either 5:30 or 6 and go for a run which is nice because I get it over with and have more time to do other things after work. Plus it keeps me more awake throughout the day. I now run 5 miles on Tuesday and Thursday, 3 on Wednesday, lift on Monday and sometimes Thursday, Friday is my day off, Saturday I cross-train and then on Sunday is my long run which increases each week. This method worked well last year so I hope it will this year too. I'm also thinking of getting a crazy-short haircut this summer because I never had that. Perhaps it will decrease the wind resistance when I run!

That's all for now...stay tuned!
